Program Description

The Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer Degree is designed to prepare students to transfer as Economics majors and continue their studies in economics. The courses in the Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer Degree program are also articulated to allow students to transfer to local University of California campuses. The electives in the degree give students the opportunity to focus their studies in accounting, math, or general economics.

This Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in the field of economics or a similar major at a CSU campus. Students completing this degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus. Students should consult with a counselor for more information on specific university major admission and transfer requirements. Students who complete an ADT and transfer to a similar major at a CSU are guaranteed a pathway to finish their baccalaureate degrees in 60 semester or 90 quarter units.

To obtain this Associate Degree for Transfer, students must complete: • 60 units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University • A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 • A grade of “C” or "P" or better in all courses required for the major • A minimum of 18 semester units in the major • The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC)
