Description
This certificate prepares students for entry-level positions, creating a brand identity and online presence for an organization. It includes developing Internet and Intranet web pages using the languages and tools available for development. Additionally, the certificate will prepare students for Social Media Support, allowing the organization to communicate with the public through various platforms. This includes creating and sharing content online, running employers' social media accounts, and working to build brand reputation. These workers post content such as images, text, or videos. The Web Development and Social Media certificate provides a foundation in the technology and use of current and emerging social media platforms (i.e., Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, etc.). Completing this program will provide students with a foundation for entry-level positions or employment advancement in a number of positions that utilize or specialize in social media, including roles in marketing, public relations, blogging, web page development, cybersecurity, and information technology.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of this program, students should be able to:
- Coding and Scripting: Demonstrates skills in writing and testing code in various programming languages to create software applications, automate tasks, and solve computational problems.
- Programming Development: Uses programming concepts and systematic methodologies to meet specific functional and user requirements.
