Music Industry Studies for Transfer - AA-T
Description
The Music Industry Studies Associate in Art for Transfer (AA-T) degree is designed for students who are interested in making music production their career. The degree prepares the student for transfer to four-year institutions of higher education and is specifically intended to satisfy the lower division requirements for the Baccalaureate in Arts in Music Industry at a California State University. However, the degree is versatile enough to give students the skills required to start a career in producing music. Courses in the degree allow students to become proficient on a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation); gain experience recording and producing music; and work in a state-of-the-art recording studio using modern production tools.
This Associate Degree for Transfer is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in a similar major at a CSU campus. Students completing this degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus or major.
To obtain this Associate Degree for Transfer, students must complete:
- A minimum of 60 CSU-transferable semester units.
- A minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all CSU-transferable coursework. Students should keep in mind that while a minimum of 2.0 is required for admission, some majors may require a higher GPA. Consult with a counselor for more information.
- A minimum of 18 semester units of major requirements completed with a grade of “C” or better or a “P” (Pass) if the course is taken on a “pass/no pass” basis.
- The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC) with a grade of “C” or better or a “P” (Pass) if the course is taken on a “pass/no pass” basis.
