"markdown": "### Description\n\nThe Music Industry Studies Associate in Art for Transfer (AA-T) degree is designed for students who are interested in making music production their career. The degree prepares the student for transfer to four-year institutions of higher education and is specifically intended to satisfy the lower division requirements for the Baccalaureate in Arts in Music Industry at a California State University. However, the degree is versatile enough to give students the skills required to start a career in producing music. Courses in the degree allow students to become proficient on a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation); gain experience recording and producing music; and work in a state-of-the-art recording studio using modern production tools.\n\nThis Associate Degree for Transfer is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in a similar major at a CSU campus. Students completing this degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus or major.\n\nTo obtain this Associate Degree for Transfer, students must complete:\n\n- A minimum of 60 CSU-transferable semester units.\n- A minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all CSU-transferable coursework. Students should keep in mind that while a minimum of 2.0 is required for admission, some majors may require a higher GPA. Consult with a counselor for more information.\n- A minimum of 18 semester units of major requirements completed with a grade of “C” or better or a “P” (Pass) if the course is taken on a “pass/no pass” basis.\n- The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC) with a grade of “C” or better or a “P” (Pass) if the course is taken on a “pass/no pass” basis.\n\n### Program Learning Outcomes\n\nUpon the successful completion of this program, students should be able to:\n\n1. Know and apply technical skills, concepts, and technologies that are used in music creation.\n2. Apply critical thinking in the creation, analysis, and interpretation of audio recordings.\n3. Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental business mechanisms in the music industry and their implications for career development in the field.\n4. Engage creativity and original thinking in the study of music.\n5. Demonstrate the ability to express themselves creatively through music using technology."
