This training program is a continuation, but at a higher level, of the Foundation of Commercial Dance - Level 1 certificate program. It prepares students for dance techniques in the genres of commercial dance, jazz, musical theater, and hip-hop. Additional training is offered in ballet, modern, performance repertory, and production. Training in these areas provides preparation for employment in commercial and entertainment industries, studio instruction, performance, and choreography. Upon completion of this certificate, along with the Foundation of Commercial Dance - Level 1 certificate, students are encouraged to continue their training at Santa Ana College’s Dance Program to obtain a more advanced certificate and/or degree.

Learning Outcome(s):

1. Perform foundational level II skills in dance techniques in the genres of ballet, commercial dance, jazz, modern, and hip-hop.
2. Apply commercial dance terminology and practices, aligning with industry standards.
3. Identify the core principles of dance repertory and production, preparing students for performance and behind-the-scenes roles.
4. Prepare and build on the skills acquired and move toward more advanced training, certificates, and degree at Santa Ana College.
