Child Development: Infant/Toddler

This program includes a selection of courses that provides academic preparation to individuals for a teaching career to work with infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months) in early childhood settings. The program will give students the general knowledge and skills in theory, principles, and techniques for this specialized group of children.

Learning Outcome(s):

1. Identify developmentally appropriate curriculum and explain principles and practices pertaining to child development.
2. Examine the connections among child, families, and communities in child development.
3. Apply a variety of effective approaches, strategies and techniques supporting positive relationships with infants, toddlers and adults.
4. Create an environment with developmentally appropriate materials and activities for infants and toddlers.
5. Demonstrate appropriate and effective guidance and teaching strategies in early childhood education.
