UMJ 200 Umoja Capstone

Student Learning Outcomes: Students will demonstrate the 18 Pillars of Umoja throughout all components of the capstone experience, showing their ability to apply theseprinciples in academic, personal, and community-based work. Students will develop meaningful community connections that foster personal growth, cultural affirmation, and engagement with Umojaprinciples. Students will demonstrate civic responsibility by actively engaging in service, leadership activities, and community-based learning experiences.

General Education: Not approved for General Education.

Course Duration (Weeks): 9

This capstone course provides students with an opportunity to synthesize their learning throughthe Umoja practices of connection, academic excellence, and cultural identity. Students engage inadvanced research, reflective writing, and collaborative projects that highlight their personal andacademic growth within the Umoja program. Emphasis is placed on leadership development, civicengagement, community responsibility, and demonstrating mastery of program outcomesthrough a final capstone project.
