Piano Teaching

A Certificate of Achievement will be granted upon completion of all program requirements. At least 50 percent of the courses required for the certificate must be completed at El Camino College.
By completing the certificate requirements, students will learn skills that will prepare them to teach beginning and intermediate-level piano students, either privately or within the auspices of a community music school or program. The curriculum prepares students for entry-level employment in the music teaching field, either as employees of a community music school or as private instructors with their own teaching studios. Certificate competencies will be assessed regularly by examinations, performances, written assignments and projects.
