Theatre: Acting Emphasis

A.A. Degree Theatre · Chaffey College · 2026-2027 Catalog

Description

The Associate in Arts in Theatre (Acting) degree provides students the opportunity to develop acting skills for the stage and screen. This degree provides students with the practical experience necessary for employment in beginning levels of professional theatre and the entertainment industry. The degree also prepares students to audition for acting programs at CSUs, UCs, private colleges, and acting conservatories. Various productions are offered each year to provide students with a broad range of practical training. If transfer to a CSU in theatre arts is the desired educational goal, the Associate in Arts in Theatre for Transfer (AA-T Theatre Arts) should be considered as an alternative route. The Theatre degree in Acting is focused more on performance, whereas the AA-T degree provides a broader coverage of the basic theory and principles of the world of theatre arts.
