Industrial Electrical Technology Level III

Description

The Industrial Electrical Technology Level III Certificate of Achievement provides students with the fundamental skills for career paths in the electrical trades, including manufacturing, construction, industry, and utility companies. Completing the certificate requires that students form a foundation in electrical theory, circuit wiring standards, and industrial electrical controls, including troubleshooting programmable logic controllers and robotics. Courses assist students to develop communication, computer, problem-solving techniques, critical-thinking and teamwork skills. Knowledge acquired throughout the certificate program readies first-time employees, as well as improves the abilities of those already in the trade.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon the successful completion of this program, students should be able to:

1. Troubleshoot and synthesize the knowledge, skills and abilities in order to obtain gainful employment in the field of industrial electricity, including compliance with OSHA standards.
2. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving appropriate within the field of industrial electricity as it relates to light and heavy industry, construction, and utility companies.
3. Communicate professionally regarding industrial electricity as it relates to programmable logic controllers (PLC).
