Prototyping and Fabrication Fundamentals Job Skills Certificate
The Prototyping Fabrication Fundamentals Certificate will facilitate Engineering, Automation, and Industrial Technology students in developing the skills and knowledge needed to prototype designs using a variety of traditional and digital tools. Students will gain the necessary theoretical and practical applications to design and assemble computer-controlled machines. The areas of study will provide a foundation in 3D design and printing, programming an embedded controller (Arduino) or micro-computer (Raspberry Pi), and fabricate with woods, metals, and plastics. Upon completion of the required courses with at least a "C" or "P" (pass) grade in each course, the student will be eligible for a Job Skills Certificate.
Program Learning Outcomes
1. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to utilize 3D modeling software to create technical drawings that can be 3D printed.
2. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to generate the necessary program to control devices using a computer.
3. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to demonstrate proficiency with basic principles of machining and fabrication.
