Administration of Justice
A.S.-T Degree Administration of Justice · Antelope Valley College · 2026-2027 Catalog
The Associate in Science in Administration of Justice for Transfer (AS-T in Administration of Justice) degree involves the study of the theory and practice of law enforcement, police work, and court and corrections systems. Law enforcement, whether as a line police officer, deputy sheriff, marshal, or state traffic officer, offers a rewarding opportunity to serve society. Specialized officers such as game wardens, forest rangers, or criminal investigators make unique contributions throughout our state and nation. They investigate crime, present cases in court and render other service to the justice system and the people. The Associate in Science in Administration of Justice for Transfer (AS-T in Administration of Justice) degree meets the requirements of SB 1440 for Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT). These degrees are intended to make it easier for students to transfer to California State University campuses, but do not exclude admittance to other colleges or universities. To earn an Associate in Science in Administration of Justice for Transfer (AS-T in Administration of Justice) degree a student must complete the following: - Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of degree-applicable courses - A minimum of 18-semester units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district - Completion of the Cal-GETC pattern - Minimum grade of "C" (or "P") for each course in the major - Minimum overall grade point average of 2.0
