Intermediate Computer Skills

Award Type: Cert of Completion

The Intermediate Computer Skills certificate will develop beginning to intermediate computer skills including: becoming more productive with the Windows operating system, Windows applications, working with files, Outlook email and calendar functions, and navigating the internet safely. This noncredit program provides the opportunity to add or upgrade job skills necessary to remain competitive in current job markets.

Many jobs across a variety of industries require basic computer skills. Job opportunities include, but are not limited to, the following: office clerk, customer service representative, sales associate, order clerk, hotel/motel desk clerk, and/or receptionist.<

Advisory: It is recommended to complete Computers and You: Level 1 (CCNC 7100) and Computers and You: Level 2 (CCNC 7101) prior to taking the required courses. Skills you are expected to have before beginning this program: basic computer skills such as using a mouse and keyboard, saving and copying files.

The graduate of the Cert of Completion in Intermediate Computer Skills will:

1. Use Windows Applications effectively.
2. Organize files, transfer files and photos from one device to another, use OneDrive services.
3. Be aware of privacy and safety issues while communicating on the Internet or Social Media.
4. Manage Email, Contacts, and Calendars for improved productivity.
