"markdown": "The Associates in Arts in Political Science for Transfer degree is designed for students to transfer into the CSU system to complete a bachelor's degree in Political Science or similar major. The degree promotes student engagement with politics at local, domestic, and international levels. Students are exposed to different perspectives on civic issues, political thoughts, American politics and world politics through which students are trained to be critical and analytical thinkers.\n\nThe Political Science program offers lower division courses to study government, public policy, political philosophies, political theories and international relations.\n\nStudents who complete an Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T or AS-T) will receive guaranteed admission with junior status to the California State University System and priority admission consideration to a major that is deemed similar to their community college transfer degree major. This priority does not guarantee admission to specific majors or campuses. Students transferring to a CSU campus that accepts the transfer degree will be required to complete no more than 60 units after transfer to earn a bachelor's degree in the same major. Students should consult a counselor for more information on specific university admission and transfer requirements.\n\nThe following are required for all AA-T or AS-T degrees:\n\n- Completion of 60 CSU transferable semester units\n- Obtainment of a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all CSU-transferable coursework\n- Completion, with a grade of “C” or better OR “P” (Pass), of each course used to satisfy major requirements AND the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC) requirements.\n\nStudents who complete this program should be able to:\n\n1. Analyze the opposing arguments of major political issues.\n2. Identify social, political, and/or economic forces necessary to establish a certain political order.\n3. Distinguish major political theories and/or political concepts"
