Career and academic pathways within the biological sciences are broad and continually expanding, encompassing genetics and genomics, bioinformatics, biochemistry, forensic science, pathology, microbiology, conservation biology, ecology, environmental science, marine biology, botany, zoology, and forestry, among others.\n\nThis degree provides a clear, structured transfer pathway to the California State University (CSU) system. Upon completion, students are guaranteed admission to a CSU campus in a similar major with junior standing, and may complete their remaining baccalaureate requirements within 60 semester or 90 quarter units.\n\n**Degree Requirements** To earn the AS-T in Biology, students must meet the following:\n\n- Minimum overall GPA of 2.0\n- Minimum grade of \"C\" (or \"P\") in each required major course\n- Completion of the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC)\n\n_Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor early to develop an educational plan and ensure timely completion of all transfer requirements._"
