      "markdown": "The certificate curriculum in welding technology is designed to provide occupational training in GAS Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). These classes are designed to meet both current and future needs in the GTAW industry. The program provides students with the practical skills and technical knowledge required to operate GTAW equipment. Students will be prepared for certification as required by employment in the GTAW industry. Employment opportunities available are Pipe Welder, Boilermaker, Fabricator, Aerospace Welder, Inspector, and Shipbuilder. The Santa Ana College welding program is a Los Angeles Certified Testing Lab Facility. The program offers training and testing for the GTAW process.\n\n**Learning Outcome(s):**\n\n1.  Recognize electrodes, filler metals, and gas used in GTAW.\n2.  Demonstrate sound welds in the various positions using various gauge thicknesses.\n3.  Construct welds on carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum alloys."
