      "markdown": "The Acute Care Nursing Assistant Certificate is designed to provide students with the theoretical knowledge, skills, and clinical knowledge to prepare for the role of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in an acute care setting.  Students will learn to be part of a healthcare team in an acute care setting, under the supervision of a nurse. The curriculum is based on essential topics needed for a CNA to be successful in an acute care setting. In addition, students learn soft skills (VBUS 402) or language skills (ESL 520) that are beneficial for working in a medical/healthcare environment.\n\n**Learning Outcome(s):**\n\n1.  Prepare students to successfully work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting.\n2.  Implement safe and competent patient care in an acute care facility.\n3.  Utilize effective infection control, safety, and communication skills in an acute care facility.\n4.  Support students in their nursing career pathway."
