      "markdown": "### Summary\n\nThe Associate of Arts degree with an area of emphasis in Mathematics Studies is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree at a transfer institution in a mathematics-related major. This degree is designed to accommodate the differing requirements of a wide variety of transfer institutions and major options. Because admission and major preparation requirements vary at each transfer institution, courses used to complete this degree should be selected with the assistance of a Miramar College counselor.\n\n**Award Note:**\nThe Associate Degree requires a minimum of 60 degree applicable semester units.\n\n**Learning Outcome(s): Students who complete the Mathematics Studies Program will be able to:**\n\n1.  Apply mathematical skills to achieve academic and professional goals.\n2.  Apply critical thinking in problem solving.\n3.
