      "markdown": "### Summary\n\nThe electricity program provides the student with an opportunity to master the skills required for success in the electrical trade. Entering students are not required to have any knowledge of the electrical trade. The two-year curriculum leads to a Certificate of Achievement or an Associate in Science degree.\n\n**Award Note:**\nThe Associate Degree requires a minimum of 60 degree applicable semester units.\n\n**Learning Outcome(s): Students who complete the Electricity Program will be able to:**\n\n1.  Demonstrate knowledge of electrical codes and blueprints.\n2.  Discuss and demonstrate knowledge of safety in the electrical field.\n3.  Evaluate electrical wiring diagrams as they relate to implementation.\n4.  Demonstrate a basic knowledge of generators and motors.\n5.  Prepare and apply to take the State of California electrician certification exam."
