Students with a Milestone M30 must enroll in STAT C1000 and Mathematics 15A. - **Offered:** Fall 2026, 17 sections (/c/san-diego-city-college/schedule/fall-2026/stat.md); Spring 2027, 16 sections (/c/san-diego-city-college/schedule/spring-2027/stat.md) - Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with previous credit for MATH 119 - Grading: Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass Part 1: This course is an introduction to statistical thinking and processes, including methods and concepts for discovery and decision-making using data. Topics include descriptive statistics; probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and linear regression; analysis of variance, chi-squared, and t-tests; and application of technology for statistical analysis including the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings. Students apply methods and processes to applications using data from a broad range of disciplines. Part 2 (Local): This is a clarification of information listed in Part 1. This course covers descriptive and inferential statistics. The descriptive portion analyzes data through graphs, measures of central tendency and dispersion. The inferential statistics portion covers statistical rules to compute basic probability, including binomial, normal, Chi-squares, and t-distributions. This course also covers estimation of population parameters, hypothesis testing, linear regression, correlation, and ANOVA. Emphasis is placed on applications of technology, using software packages, for statistical analysis and interpretation of statistical values based on data from disciplines including business, social sciences, psychology, life science, health science, and education. This course is intended for transfer students interested in statistical analysis. ### STAT C1000X — STAT C1000/Math 15A - **Units:** 4 - **Hours:** 48 - 54 hours lecture/48-54 hours lab - **Prerequisite:** Milestone M30 - **Offered:** not on the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 schedules - Limitation on Enrollment: This course is not open to students with previous credit for MATH 119 or MATH 15A - Grading: Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass This Learning Community links two courses to offer extra academic support, convenient scheduling, and a sense of community. The two linked courses are MATH 119 (Elementary Statistics) and MATH 015A (Prealgebra Refresher). For a full description of each course, refer to the catalog course descriptions.
