      "markdown": "### Description\n\nThe **Associate in Arts in Philosophy for Transfer (AA-T)** is intended to meet the lower division requirements for philosophy majors (or similar majors) at a CSU campus that offers a philosophy baccalaureate degree. The course of study provides a broad introduction to philosophy for those interested in building a foundation for an eventual bachelor's degree in philosophy, or for those seeking a structured exploration of philosophy for other reasons.\n\n**In addition to the courses listed below, the following requirements must be met to complete the AA-T in Philosophy:**\n\n1.  Completion of a minimum of 60 CSU-transferable semester units.\n2.  Achievement of a minimum GPA of at least 2.0 in all CSU-transferable coursework (some majors may require a higher GPA. Students should consult with a counselor for more information).\n3.  Completion of the major with a grade of “C” or better in each course or a \"P\" if the course was taken on a Pass/No Pass basis and the \"P\" is equal to a \"C\" or better.\n4.   Completion of the California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC). The California State University General Education-Breadth (CSU GE) or Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) may be used in some cases; please see a counselor for details.\n\nStudents are advised to check with the Counseling Department or Transfer Center for the courses accepted for the philosophy major at the Cal State University to which they seek to transfer. Students planning on transferring to a CSU are strongly advised to take PHIL 115 (Symbolic Logic) to prepare for further study."
