      "markdown": "### Description\n\nThe **Associate of Science Degree in Health Science Preparation** will provide students with all the courses necessary to pursue further education in a variety of health science programs such as nursing, dental hygiene, physical therapy, medical laboratory technicians, and radiological sciences. The degree includes the prerequisite requirements for both two-year community college health science programs and baccalaureate degree programs at various four-year institutions. Some variation in degree requirements may exist for a particular Health Science program; therefore, it is essential that students refer to the catalog of their intended transfer institution and contact a counselor to ensure that all required coursework is completed.\n\nTo acquire the **Associate of Science Degree in Health Science Preparation**, students must complete the required major courses below with a grade of \"C\" or better or of \"P\" if the course was taken on a Pass/No Pass basis, along with either of the following: Rio Hondo General Education (RHC GE) or California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC). California State University General Education—Breadth (CSU GE) or Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) may be used in some cases; please see a counselor for details."
