Provides the skills necessary for entry-level employment as a shielded metal arc welder.

Learning Outcome(s):

1.  Successful students will identify, evaluate and effectively demonstrate how to produce acceptable fillet and groove welds in all positions using shielded metal arc welding.
2.  Successful students will identify, evaluate and effectively apply safety issues as they pertain to welding lab safety, occupational safety and personal safety.
3.  Successful students will identify, evaluate and effectively demonstrate how to set-up, adjust, operate and shut down advanced parameters on shielded metal arc welding equipment.
