A placement process determines appropriate initial placement in the sequence. In order to earn a certificate, students must successfully complete N ESL 904.\n\nLearning Outcome(s):\n\n1.  Demonstrate an ability to speak intelligibly and communicate in English.\n2.  Write, revise and edit a basic piece of academic writing (a paragraph).\n3.
