"description": "Part 1: In this course, students examine human origins, evolution, and variation with a focus on the adaptations of humans and other primates. Biological evolution and scientific methods are foundations for the course. Part 2: Introduction to Biological Anthropology is an introduction to the study of the unique biocultural diversity of humans. The course introduces the concepts, methods, and scientific explanation for human biological evolution through the application of the scientific method. Relevant issues and topics include, but are not limited to human genetics, evolutionary theory, human variation, human biocultural adaptations, primate behavior and evolution, and fossil evidence for human evolution.",

"Student Learning Outcomes: Demonstrate an understanding of the scientific method and an ability to interpret data to arrive at reasoned conclusions. Identify the principles of human inheritance, molecular biology, genetics, and evolutionary processes from the perspective of biological anthropology. Identify the biological and cultural factors responsible for human variation. Identify and compare primate and hominin species in terms of their osteological, morphological, and/or behavioral adaptations.",

"description": "Part 1: In this laboratory course, students investigate the anatomy, genetics, behavior, variation, and evolution of humans and other primates. Students apply the scientific method and use interactive exercises in this course supplement to the Introduction to Biological Anthropology lecture course Part 2: This laboratory course is offered as a supplement to Introduction to Biological Anthropology either taken concurrently or in a subsequent term. Laboratory exercises are designed to introduce students to the scientific method and explore genetics, human variation, human and non-human primate anatomy and behavior, the primate/hominin fossil record and other resources to investigate processes that affect human evolution.",
