      "markdown": "The Advanced Certificate of Achievement in ESOL verifies that a student has successfully completed the advanced ESOL reading and writing course or English or English 1A or English 1AS, an advanced ESOL Listening and Speaking course, an advanced ESOL Grammar course, and two to four units of any further coursework at the college transfer level. Students interested in completing this certificate should consult with the ESOL program chair and a counselor.\n\n**Career Opportunities**\n\nThis certificate will prepare immigrant students for vocational programs and job advancement. The certificate will provide international students with evidence of English study, which makes a job-seeker more competitive in many countries.\n\n**Program Learning Outcomes**\n\nUpon completion of this program a student will be able to:\n\n1.  Satisfy advanced ESOL standards for clear, effective, well-organized, well-developed, well-edited and logically sound sentences, paragraphs and essays, and appropriate citation of sources.\n2.  Communicate fluently, accurately and appropriately in spoken American English at a level required in advanced ESOL courses.\n3.  Participate in campus and classroom culture at a level required for success as an advanced ESOL student."
