After acquiring the historical, philosophical, and theoretical foundations of recreation, students will apply administrative, leadership, planning, supervision, and counseling skills in diverse commercial, municipal, and camp recreation settings. Competencies will be assessed by evaluating the student's ability to solve problems in recreation and leisure program design and to develop organizational skills in a variety of situations.
