### AERO 100 — BASIC UAV OPERATOR

Prepares students to meet the Federal Aviation Administration requirements for certification to operate Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles under 55 pounds for commercial operations pursuant to 14 CFR 107. Emphasizes the safe, legal, and ethical aspects of UAV operations in civil, public, and commercial settings. Includes special emphasis on capabilities and limitations of optical payloads and sensors, flight operation planning, and safety. Prepares students to safely operate UAV through all phases of flight to National Institute of Standards and Technology Level 2 Open Area Maneuvering remote pilot proficiency standards.
