Majors will have the opportunity to participate in up to four productions a year: three main stage productions and a one act festival in our smaller black box venue. Theatre Arts graduates will be prepared to transfer to a four-year university for further training; find entry level work in technical theatre; act, write or direct on a community or professional level or in film or television. The Associate in Arts in Theatre Performance for Transfer will meet the needs of students transferring to a California State University who intend to study in a theatre-related major. It is highly recommended that students consult with a counselor to determine whether this degree is the best option for their transfer goals. Other requirements include completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of degree-applicable courses, minimum overall grade point average of 2.0, minimum grade of “C” (or “P”) for each course in the major, and completion of Cal-GETC (California General Education Transfer Curriculum). ### Program Requirements | Course | Title | Units | | --- | --- | --- | | **Theatre Arts-AAT Degree Requirements: Complete all of the following** | | 18 | | **IMPORTANT: To obtain the Associate in Arts Degree in Theatre Performance for Transfer, students must complete the following requirements with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0:** | | | | **Any needed transferable electives to reach a total of 60 CSU transferable units.** | | | | **As part of the GE classes required for completion of the degree, students should plan to take English 1001 and complete the Math competency requirement their first year.** | | | | **Required Core #1** | | 6 | | THEA 1100 | Principles of Acting | 3 | | THEA 2000 | Introduction to Theatre | 3 | | **Required Core #2** | | 3 | | THEA 1001 | Rehearsal and Performance | 1-3 | | THEA 1501 | Technical Production Lab | 1-3 | | **List A Requirements - Select three courses** | | 9 | | THEA 1150 | Stage Makeup | 3 | | THEA 1200 | Intermediate Principles of Acting | 3 | | THEA 1600 | Stagecraft | 3 | | THEA 2400 | Script Analysis | 3 | | THEA 2600 | Stage Lighting | 3 | | **Any course not already used in Required Core #2.** | | 1-3 | ### Recommended Sequence #### Theatre Arts-AAT **Term 1** (9 units) - THEA2000 - Introduction to Theatre (3) - THEA1100 - Principles of Acting (3) - THEA1150 - Stage Makeup (3) **Term 2** (5-9 units) - THEA1001 - Rehearsal and Performance (1-3) - THEA1501 - Technical Production Lab (1-3) - THEA1600 - Stagecraft (3) **Term 3** (9 units) - THEA1150 - Stage Makeup (3) - THEA1200 - Intermediate Principles of Acting (3) - THEA2400 - Script Analysis (3) **Term 4** (5-9 units) - THEA2600 - Stage Lighting (3) - THEA1001 - Rehearsal and Performance (1-3) - THEA1501 - Technical Production Lab (1-3) ### Program Outcomes #### Theater AA-T
