# Physics 2.0 - AS-T (A.S. Degree for Transfer) College of the Siskiyous · 2026-2027 Catalog · Department: Degrees and Certificates A-Z Source: https://siskiyous.elumenapp.com/catalog/cos26-27catalog/program/physics-2-0-as-t-fall-2026 **Credits:** 33.0 credits A branch of the physical sciences, physics is the study of energy, space, matter, the interactions between matter, and the laws that govern these interactions. Physicists examine the fundamental laws of nature and seek to understand the principles that govern the behavior of objects—from subatomic particles to celestial bodies—and how these principles explain and predict natural phenomena. They use mathematics to formulate, explain, and test theories.  Physicists may apply these fundamental concepts to fields such as chemistry, biology, geophysics, engineering, communication, transportation, electronics, and health, or pursue a teaching credential to educate the next generation. The Associate in Science Degree in Physics 2.0 for Transfer will meet the needs of students transferring to a California State University and University of California who intend to study in a physics-related major. Other requirements include completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of degree-applicable courses, minimum overall grade point average of 2.0, minimum grade of “C” (or “P”) for each course in the major, and completion of Cal-GETC (California General Education Transfer Curriculum). ### Program Requirements | Course | Title | Units | | --- | --- | --- | | **Required Core: Complete all of the following** | | 33 | | CSCI 1007 | Programming I | 3 | | MATH 1400 | Calculus and Analytic Geometry I | 4 | | MATH 1500 | Calculus and Analytic Geometry II | 4 | | MATH 2400 | Calculus and Analytic Geometry III | 4 | | MATH 2500 | Ordinary Differential Equations | 3 | | MATH 2600 | Introduction to Linear Algebra | 3 | | PHYS 2105 | Calculus-Based Physics for Scientists and Engineers: A | 4 | | PHYS 2110 | Calculus-Based Physics for Scientists and Engineers: B | 4 | | PHYS 2115 | Calculus-Based Physics for Scientists and Engineers: C | 4 | ### Recommended Sequence #### Physics 2.0 - AS-T **Term 1** (7 units) - CSCI1007 - Programming I (3) - MATH1400 - Calculus and Analytic Geometry I (4) **Term 2** (8 units) - MATH1500 - Calculus and Analytic Geometry II (4) - PHYS2105 - Calculus-Based Physics for Scientists and Engineers: A (4) **Term 3** (8 units) - MATH2400 - Calculus and Analytic Geometry III (4) - PHYS2110 - Calculus-Based Physics for Scientists and Engineers: B (4) **Term 4** (10 units) - MATH2500 - Ordinary Differential Equations (3) - MATH2600 - Introduction to Linear Algebra (3) - PHYS2115 - Calculus-Based Physics for Scientists and Engineers: C (4) ### Program Outcomes #### Physic 2.0 - AS-T
