"markdown": "**Credits:** 18.0 credits\n\nThe English program at College of the Siskiyous provides training in analytical, communicative, and writing skills necessary for a number of professions. English majors have a good background for careers in teaching, journalism, technical writing, free-lance writing, telecommunications, editing, magazine or book publishing, book marketing and distribution, advertising, law, and business/corporate communication. The English major prepares students for careers requiring strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and critical thinking skills. The AA-T option is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in a similar major at a California State University (CSU) campus. Students who wish to transfer may want to consult a counselor to help them determine the best course of action for their goal. Other requirements include completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of degree-applicable courses, minimum overall grade point average of 2.0, minimum grade of “C” (or “P”) for each course in the major, and completion of Cal-GETC-Breadth.\n\n### Program Requirements"
