How much do we know about the history and making of our favorite films and do we really know how to watch them?\n\n**The Introduction to Film Certificate of Completion** explores the powerful impact film has on us and the techniques filmmakers use to make us respond.\n\nStudents examine how elements like narrative and genre, mise-en-scene, camera work, editing and sound work together to create meaning in films. We will examine the business and history of film along with various narrative forms of cinema, including documentary, animated films, and experimental films."
