This three-course program equips students with foundational knowledge through advanced skills in hybrid, battery electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and hydrogen fuel cell vehicle technology. Emphasis is placed on high-voltage safety, diagnostics, system operation, and service procedures using industry-standard tools and protocols. Students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge propulsion systems and develop the competencies required for entry-level technician positions in dealerships, independent repair facilities, fleet maintenance operations, and emerging green mobility sectors.\n\n### Program Learning Outcomes\n\nUpon the successful completion of this program, students should be able to:\n\n1. Prepare for industry certifications such as ASE L3 and entry into advanced training or employment in clean transportation technologies.\n2. Analyze the structure and function of hydrogen fuel cells and alternative energy systems in transportation.\n3. Apply high-voltage safety procedures and demonstrate familiarity with industry-standard repair practices.\n4. Identify and interpret data from electric drivetrains, energy storage systems, and control modules using scan tools and other diagnostic equipment.\n5. Safely diagnose and service hybrid and electric vehicle propulsion systems."
