      "markdown": "**About the Program**\n\n**Program Goal:** Local\n\n**GE Pattern(s):** Butte Local, Cal-GETC\n\n**Program Code:** 44298.00AA\n\nThis degree is intended to provide an interdisciplinary foundation in the arts and humanities for students who are interested in transfer to a university in a related major. These courses provide an introduction to a variety of possible paths of study such as English, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, History, Philosophy, and World Languages. This program may also be appropriate for students pursuing a transfer major not available at Butte College so that they can obtain a degree while fulfilling lower-division requirements for their transfer destination. These major courses may also count toward satisfying university transfer general education requirements. Students are strongly advised to see a counselor to discuss specific choices for their degree and career path.\n\n**Program Learning Outcome(s):**\nUpon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to:\n\n1.  Analyze the human experience through the lens of cultural, literary, philosophical, musical, and/or artistic expression.\n2.
