      "markdown": "##### Summary\n\n##### Program Description\n\nSpanish provides a sequential course of study that prepares you for transfer to four-year institutions with a Spanish major or acquisition of Spanish proficiency necessary for career fields that emphasize the value of familiarity with diverse cultures and global issues.\n\nThis Associate Degree for Transfer is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in the field of Spanish or a similar major at a CSU campus. Students completing this degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus.  Students should consult with a counselor for more information on specific university major admission and transfer requirements.  Students who complete an ADT and transfer to a similar major at a CSU are guaranteed a pathway to finish their baccalaureate degrees in 60 semester or 90 quarter units.\n\nTo obtain this Associate Degree for Transfer, students must complete:\n\n-   60 units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University\n-   A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0\n-   A grade of “C” or \"P\" or better in all courses required for the major\n-   A minimum of 18 semester units in the major\n-   The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC)\n\n**\n\n##### Career Opportunities\n\n**\n\nTransfer to a 4-year university in Spanish or related discipline.\n\n**\n\n##### Learning Outcome(s)\n\n**\n\n1.  Use grammar and vocabulary to demonstrate oral competence in the Spanish language.\n2.  Use grammar and vocabulary to demonstrate written competence in the Spanish language.\n3.  Describe the culture(s) of the Spanish-speaking world.\n4.  Interpret Spanish-language texts according to their cultural, literary and/or linguistic content."
