      "markdown": "##### Program Description\n\nBerkeley City College's Elementary Teacher Education: Integrated Programs AA-T is an interdisciplinary program which meets state guidelines in order to prepare students to begin the path toward becoming elementary school teachers, an in-demand profession.\n\nThis Associate Degree for Transfer is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in the field of Elementary Education or a similar major at a CSU campus.  Students completing this degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus.  Students should consult with a counselor for more information on specific university major admission and transfer requirements.  Students who complete an ADT and transfer to a similar major at a CSU are guaranteed a pathway to finish their baccalaureate degrees in 60 semester or 90 quarter units.\n\nTo obtain this Associate Degree for Transfer, students must complete:\n\n-   60 units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University\n-   A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0\n-   A grade of “C” or \"P\" or better in all courses required for the major\n-   A minimum of 18 semester units in the major\n-   The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC)\n\n**\n\n##### Career Opportunities\n\n**\n\nTransfer to a four-year university with a major in Elementary Teacher Education or a related discipline.\n\n**\n\n##### Learning Outcome(s)\n\n**\n\n1.  Analyze models and methods of effective teaching, especially in relation to the needs of a diverse student body\n2.  Apply effective strategies for teaching\n3.  Write strong essays\n4.  Describe and teach basic concepts in number systems\n5.  Describe basic concepts in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences and apply them to teaching at an elementary level"
