      "markdown": "##### Summary\n\n##### Program Description\n\nThe Art Department offers both an Associate in Arts Degree and Certificates of Achievement programs. Various required and elective courses focus on individual creative development and provide a broad range of classroom and studio experiences. Art courses fulfill requirements for transfer or prepare students for careers requiring competency in visual media.\n\n**\n\n##### Career Opportunities\n\n**\n\nTransfer to a 4-year university with a major in Art or a related field or careers requiring competency in visual media.\n\n**\n\n##### Learning Outcome(s)\n\n**\n\n1.  Communicate and problem-solve in at least two media.\n2.  Write a visual analysis/critique of their own and others’ art based on both form and content, and their relation, to a global context.\n3.  Recall and summarize key movements in the history of art and contemporary art on a global scale and understand and articulate how this legacy influences their artwork.\n4.  Assemble a portfolio of strong artwork which collectively demonstrates skill, understanding of techniques in a given medium, originality, thoughtfulness, and personal expression."
