#### Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management Certificate of Achievement

The Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management Certificate of Achievement provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to perform at an entry-level position in private and public agencies, such as community parks, sports facilities, and recreation centers, and in various careers, including event planning, recreational program planning, sport and tournament planning, hospitality, therapeutic recreation, and tourism. Students will learn leadership skills, how to develop programs for diverse populations, and also be able to address health and safety concerns while administering these programs. Upon completion of the required courses with at least a “C” or “P” grade in each course, the student will be eligible for a Certificate of Achievement.

### Program Learning Outcomes

-   1\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to examine career opportunities and current issues and events as it relates to human wellness and recreation delivery services in Recreation Administration.

-   2\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to apply principles of event planning, including implementation, assessment, and evaluation.

-   3\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to evaluate how to develop, operate, and maintain recreation activities for diverse and special populations.

-   4\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to provide leadership in a wide variety of Recreation Administration settings and agencies.

-   5\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to assess safety risks in a recreational setting.
