#### Fire Fighter I Academy Certificate of Achievement

The Fire Fighter I Academy Certificate of Achievement is designed to meet the training and educational requirements established by the State Fire Marshal’s Office for Fire Fighter I certification. The program will prepare students for the national registry exam and certification as a California State Emergency Medical Technician. After successful completion of this certificate, students will be authorized to take the National Registry EMT examination. Upon completion of the required courses with at least a “C” or “P” (pass) grade in each course, the student will be eligible a Certificate of Achievement.

### Program Learning Outcomes

-   1\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to perform the skills that meet National Fire Protection Association Standard 1001 for Fire Fighter and California State Fire Marshal Standards for Fire Fighter 1.

-   2\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to complete the components of the fire fighter application process which include the written exam, the physical agility, the oral interview, the fire chief's interview, and the background investigation.

-   3\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to analyze fire and emergency incidents and identify components of emergency management and fire fighter safety, including-size-up-report on conditions-Incident Command system-RECEO-10 Standard Firefighting Orders-18 situations that shout "Watch Out"-common factors associated with injuries and line of duty deaths.

-   4\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to complete the fire fighter probationary process.

-   5\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to analyze the components of emergency management and fire fighter safety.

-   6\. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to create a size-up-report on fire safety conditions which utilizes the Incident Command system and RECEO-10 Standard Firefighting Orders.
