#### Diesel Engine Systems Certificate of Completion

The Diesel Engine Systems Certificate of Completion is designed to support new, current, and returning students by providing tools and strategies to be successful in the area of off-highway diesel engine repair. Topics covered during the completion of this certificate include basic tool knowledge and shop safety skills, engine parts identification and basic engine theory. Modern computer-controlled diesel engine theory and troubleshooting is also covered along with diesel exhaust emissions systems and exhaust aftertreatment. To Achieve the Certificate of Completion: Upon completion of the required courses with a grade of “P” for passing, the student will be awarded a Certificate of Completion.

### Program Learning Outcomes

-   1\. Upon successful completion of this program, the student will be able to communicate basic diesel engine operational principles.

-   2\. Upon the successful completion of this program, the student will be able to examine and explain the common emissions system components found on modern diesel engines.

-   3\. Upon the successful completion of this program, the student will be able to interpret technical service manuals and literature.

-   4\. Upon the successful completion of this program, the student will be able to diagnose failures in a modern computer-controlled diesel engine using an electronic service tool.
