# Mathematics 2.0 (A.S.-T Degree) Antelope Valley College · 2026-2027 Catalog · Department: Mathematics Source: https://avc.elumenapp.com/catalog/2026-27/program/mathematics-2-0-as-t-fall-2026 The Associate in Science in Mathematics 2.0 for Transfer (AS-T) offers students a fundamental knowledge of Mathematics and its relation to science, technology, and engineering. Students will enhance their problem solving and critical thinking skills by applying mathematical models to real world problems or utilizing mathematical objects and theorems to evaluate the validity of a statement or to prove mathematical statements. The Associate in Science in Mathematics 2.0 for Transfer (AS-T) meets the requirements of SB 1440 for Associate Degrees for Transfer. These degrees are intended to make it easier for students to transfer to California State University campuses but do not exclude admittance to other colleges or universities. To earn an Associate in Science in Mathematics 2.0 for Transfer (AS-T in Mathematics) degree a student must complete the following: - Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of degree-applicable courses - A minimum of 18-semester units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district - Completion of the Cal-GETC pattern - Minimum grade of “C” (or “P”) for each course in the major - Minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 ### Program Requirements | Course | Title | Units | | --- | --- | --- | | **Mathematics 2.0 AS-T: Complete all of the following** | | 24-25 | | **Required Core: Complete all of the following** | | 21 | | **Required Courses - Choose one** | | 5 | | MATH 150 | Calculus and Analytic Geometry | 5 | | MATH 150H | Calculus & Analytic Geometry Honors | 5 | | **Required Courses: Complete all of the following** | | 16 | | MATH 160 | Calculus and Analytic Geometry | 4 | | MATH 220 | Linear Algebra | 4 | | MATH 230 | Introduction to Ordinary Differential Equations | 4 | | MATH 250 | Calculus and Analytic Geometry | 4 | | **List A: Choose one** | | 3-4 | | CS 120 | Programming and Algorithms in C++ | 3 | | CS 122 | Programming and Algorithms in Python | 3 | | PHYS 110 | General Physics | 4 | ### Recommended Pathway #### Mathematics 2.0 AS-T **Term 1** (14 units) - MATH150 - Calculus and Analytic Geometry (5) - MATH150H - Calculus & Analytic Geometry Honors (5) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 1C (3) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 6 (3) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 3B (3) **Term 2** (16 units) - MATH160 - Calculus and Analytic Geometry (4) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 5A (3) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 5C (1) - ENGLC1000 - Academic Reading and Writing (4) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 4 (3) - General Elective (1) **Term 3** (16 units) - MATH250 - Calculus and Analytic Geometry (4) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 3A (3) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 1B (3) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 4 (3) - General Elective (3) **Term 4** (14-15 units) - MATH220 - Linear Algebra (4) - MATH230 - Introduction to Ordinary Differential Equations (4) - Any Cal-GETC GE Area 5B (3) - CS120 - Programming and Algorithms in C++ (3) - CS122 - Programming and Algorithms in Python (3) - PHYS110 - General Physics (4) ### Program Outcomes ### Mathematics 2.0 AS-T
