"markdown": "The Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer (AA-T in Economics) degree program has been developed to provide the student with a fundamental understanding of the field of Economics, which emphasizes economic analysis, institutions and policies in American, regional, and urban settings. Economics is concerned with the study of how people and societies produce various commodities and distribute them for consumption, now or in the future, among various persons and groups in society. The Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer (AA-T in Economics) degree meets the requirements of SB 1440 for Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT). These degrees are intended to make it easier for students to transfer to California State University campuses but do not exclude admittance to other colleges or universities. To earn an Associate in Arts in Economics for Transfer (AA-T in Economics) degree a student must complete the following: - Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of degree-applicable courses - A minimum of 18-semester units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district - Competition of the Cal-GETC pattern - Minimum grade of \"C\" (or \"P\") for each course in the major - Minimum overall grade point average of 2.0\n\n### Program Requirements"
