READ 990 provides competency and strategy-based instruction for improving reading. It involves work with literal comprehension, introductory inferential comprehension, metacognitive strategies, and vocabulary development in college-level texts. READ 990 is part of the optional College Readiness - Reading and Writing non credit certificate that students may earn. Students will receive "pass" or "no pass" only.
